Why not Scala? Much better than Java and works on JVM. (Though I am not sure about Android).

Well, there are a few arguments. Some of them are:

  1. As stated in the text, I want to know something at least a bit before I criticize it.
  2. From what I google, running Scala programs on Android is not necessarily trivial.
  3. While this is a very weak argument, I know nothing about Scala, but a (tiny) something about Java.
