One of the main advantages of LaTeX is that it is very good at typesetting mathematical formulae. We will not be able to cover the vast subject of mathematical typesetting in too much detail, but we will show some basic examples. The Short Math Guide for LaTeX is a good source; if you are more or less familiar with standard LaTeX’s math capabilities, User’s Guide for the amsmath Package is also an excellent read.
