I often run my org-agenda in the morning only to see a task I completed yesterday marked as TODO (but forgotten to be marked as DONE). Often I don’t care about the exact date I completed the task, but sometimes I do, and then org-todo-yesterday
comes into play. It does exactly what it says on the tin – marks the task as DONE, but with yesterday’s timestamp. Consult the docstring and/or the source code to learn more. You might even want to bind it to some convenient key (it is not bound by default). A tip for the night owls: it can also be useful if you complete the task after midnight, but still want Org to consider it done the previous day.
