  • 20:36 UTC (new) (history) 2016-03-30 Turtle uncloaking . . . . Marcin Borkowski I know, I know. I was supposed to write something about the horizontal layout. But this will have to wait, since I have a sexier thing to talk about. After some hiatus from Logeox, my turtle is finally visible! And here’s the proof:

  • 06:53 UTC (new) (history) 2016-03-27 Bad news and Good News . . . . Marcin Borkowski Bad news is that you’re a sinner and deserve to die. (Me, too.) Good News is that you no longer have to: Jesus did it //for you//. What’s more, He has risen from the dead and lives forever. And so can you. Will you join? Now let us sing with our Mother, the Holy Catholic Church: Hallelujah!

  • 17:11 UTC (new) (history) 2016-03-26 What and how I’m learning . . . . Marcin Borkowski For today, I decided to write a “softer” post about my learning process. (I did not abandon coding, but I slowed down a bit, because life (spending half a day in hospital is no fun) and because of preparation for the most important holiday of the year. I did tinker a bit, though – for instance, I switched from lines to paths, as promised. I also started working on horizontal layout, though it is a tad trickier than I thought. Expect a short post on that soon after Easter!) Quite a few other people decided to learn about Android, too, so it might make some sense to share some learning materials.

  • 05:24 UTC (new) (history) 2016-03-19 My most interesting mistakes so far . . . . Marcin Borkowski First, a disclaimer of sorts: you might think that I’m blogging like crazy in the hope of winning through sheer volume of posts. Nothing like that. It’s just that I learned a lot, and I wanted to share these things. It makes so much more sense to blog without a week’s delay about what I achieved, especially if I’m swelling with pride;-). (In fact, this very post was mostly written between Wednesday and Friday, and the only reason I didn’t post it yesterday was that I forgot to do it at first, and then suddenly it was too late and I was going to bed.) Do not expect more than 2-3 posts per week on average, even if there are short peaks of two-three posts in a row. I have a life, I have a family, I have a job, and I even have other writing projects. OK, now back to our normal schedule.

  • 17:53 UTC (new) (history) 2016-03-16 Back to sanity . . . . Marcin Borkowski I am smiling a great smile. The smile of a man who f..ked with his car and didn’t break it. (Andy Weir, The Martian) There’s supposedly a Russian saying that goes like “The morning is wiser than the evening”. Smart guys, these Russians. (Even though I’m posting this in the evening, I actually solved yesterday’s problem mostly before 7:15 am today.)

  • 21:52 UTC (new) (history) 2016-03-11 Drawing is easy . . . . Marcin Borkowski As could be expected, getting back with a fresh mind on the next morning is a good advice. I can now draw a line on the screen – whee-hee! (See the GitHub repo for the code, though it’s really nothing special and still a bit of a mess.) The less fun part is, I have honestly no idea how I could learn this using the docs/tutorials. What did I do wrong?

  • 21:53 UTC (new) (history) 2016-03-10 Drawing is hard . . . . Marcin Borkowski I really wanted to write about my success with drawing something today. Nope. I give up. Not entirely, of course, but for today. I tried to actually draw a line on an ImageView, and after an hour or so I decided that enough is enough.

  • 20:19 UTC (new) (history) 2016-03-03 About the Logeox project . . . . Marcin Borkowski OK, so let me introduce my project. After some time spent on thinking an googling, I decided to call it Logeox. I know, I know, it is a bad name, and you don’t write multimillion dollar apps with such lousy names. Whatever. Naming things is hard.

  • 21:05 UTC (new) (history) 2016-03-02 Make yourself known – a few thoughts . . . . Marcin Borkowski I wanted to introduce my project today, but this will wait until tomorrow (well, you can go to GitHub to learn what it is about in a few words anyway). I decided to write one more “soft” (and short) post about my general opinion about the contest and my approach to it.
